Developments of Social/Affordable Housing

With all new properties and developments, a greater emphasis is being put on quality and design. All new social/affordable housing developments should be well integrated with and to the existing pattern of current settlements. These developments help enhance areas and rural communities, by promoting regeneration and helping to maintain sustainable communities. Most rural developments of social/affordable housing are on a much smaller scale than urban developments, normally between 2 to 10 properties. The allocation of these properties to rent or to buy can, in some cases, favour people with local connections to that community, either through residential, family or employment links. This helps integration and maintains the balance within existing communities.
